Dear Friends and Neighbors,
The 2026 legislative session ended on March 12, and since then, I have been back home in the 31st District continuing the work of listening, meeting with constituents, and staying focused on the issues that matter most to our communities.
This year’s session included some important wins, but also serious concerns about the direction of our state. Many families are still struggling with the cost of living, communities are asking for safer neighborhoods, and vulnerable Washingtonians continue to depend on state systems that must be transparent, accountable, and worthy of their trust.
You can read more about the major issues from this year’s session, the work I focused on, and how decisions made in Olympia could affect our district in my 2026 legislative session review.
Serving as your state representative is a year-round responsibility. My office remains available to help answer questions, connect you with state agencies or resources, listen to your concerns, and hear your ideas for how we can make state government work better for the people it serves.
Election-year communication limits
Because 2026 is an election year, additional rules affect how legislators may communicate with constituents. Starting Monday, May 4, my legislative communications, including email updates like this one, will be limited until the November general election results are certified by the Secretary of State. These restrictions are part of state ethics laws that apply in election years, unless the Legislature is called into a special session.
I want to be clear. These limits do not prevent you from contacting me.
Representing the 31st District is not limited to the months we are in session or to the updates I can send. My office remains open and available, and I encourage you to continue reaching out just as you normally would. Whether you need help navigating a state agency, have a question about a policy issue, want to share a concern, or would like to schedule a meeting, my contact information is listed at the bottom of this update.
I will continue responding to constituents throughout the year and doing the work you sent me to Olympia to do.
Stay connected
Even with these temporary limits to outgoing legislative communications, you can still follow and review information from the 2026 legislative session and beyond through several public resources.
